Lyrics to Living next door to Alice, a song you can get involved with at the Munich Oktoberfest

The biggest hit from English rockers Smokie. They released Living Next Door to Alice in 1976, and yep, Oktoberfest crowds still can't get enough of putting the question: "Who the f*** is Alice?"

The below clip shows Smokie performing the song for TV in early 1995. Great to see the band here in all their poodle-hair-do glory, even though it's bleeding obvious they're just lip-syncing and pretending to play.

There's a tragic footnote to it. In March 1995, soon after this was filmed, Smokie's lead singer Alan Barton died when the band's tour bus crashed during a hailstorm in Düsseldorf, in northern Germany. May he rest in peace.
