Still new to the Oktoberfest playlist, Schatzi schenk mir ein Foto (Sweetie give me a photo) actually comes from the Netherlands.

The Dutch version "Schatje, mag ik je foto" was a number one hit at home. Since the song's breezy, flirty lyrics and catchy tune are perfect beach/ski/Oktoberfest party material it wasn't going to be long before someone put out a German version.

First to the punch were singer Volker Racho and DJ Armin Koch, a pair well known around Ballaman, the main party beach on Mallorca popular with Germans.

Racho and Koch first recorded the song in December 2009 but Schatzi didn't really take off until it was recorded and released by Mickie Krause in 2010. Krause's version was crowed the "Wiesn Hit" of 2011", and it reached No.27 on the German pop chart.
All in all Schatzi is a hooky hit that's sure to get the beer benches swinging.
